Trans-Mongolian rail route train2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Trans-Siberian rail line through Russia, undoubtedly the world’s greatest railway journey. The Trans-Siberian Railway runs like a steel ribbon across Russia travelling a total of 9288km and passes 485 bridges, 87 cities, 16 rivers, eight time zones and takes seven days to pass.
