Bicton Travel selects Sabre to unlock data value

Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR), the leading technology provider to the global travel industry, today announced that leading West Australian travel agency Bicton Travel has signed a multi-year technology and content agreement making Sabre its GDS provider of choice.

The agreement commits a suite of Sabre technology solutions, including data analysis and reporting tools, to support the Perth-based cruise and luxury travel specialist as it pushes a more personalised service for customers.

“The key to better personalisation lies in having a clearer understanding of the individual traveller and their preferences – past, present and future. Against a backdrop of new technological capabilities, we have an opportunity to significantly enhance the traveller experience throughmore sophisticated data and intelligence tools,” said Richard Morgan, regional director of Sabre Travel Network South Pacific.

Sabre technology powers over 2,000 trips every minute of every day, processing 150,000 system messages per second during peak times.

“By overlaying today’s data-rich travel landscape with intelligent technologies, we’re helping agents build a more accurate, insight-driven, appreciation of their customers’ needs – ensuring a highly relevant and seamless travel experience. For agents, this knowledge also translates into better strategic business decision-making including improvements to marketing, revenue management, process and operational decisions,” added Morgan.

The full suite of travel solutions deployed by Bicton Travel includes: Sabre Red Workspace, Sabre Agency Manager and Sabre Travel Intelligence, which combines powerful data gathering and reporting capabilities with the wealth of secure data available in Sabre Agency Manager to create and run customised report documents – improving efficiencies and identifying unique customer requirements.
