Attention holidaymakers, camping and caravanning enthusiasts: the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is auctioning its iconic Winnebago Pink Minnie caravan on eBay from 17 November. Funds raised from the auction sale will help NBCF in its mission to fund life-changing breast cancer research.
NBCF’s much-loved Pink Minnie was kindly donated by Winnebago Australia in 2015 and has been on many memorable journeys with NBCF to promote major fundraising campaigns including the 2015 Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign and the 2015 and 2016 Dometic Follow the Sun campaigns. Follow the Sun saw Ambassadors travel around to caravan parks from North Queensland to Victoria to engage communities and encourage their love of mobile living whilst raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research.
Perfectly suited to couples and small families keen for some adventure and exploration, the Winnebago Pink Minnie is a compact, easy-to-tow caravan with all of the features for comfortable travel including large bed, full kitchen, dinette and corner ensuite. It is in pristine condition and summer-holiday ready for camping and caravanning enthusiasts.
NBCF CEO Professor Sarah Hosking encouraged Australians to go online and bid on the Pink Minnie to help NBCF accelerate its life-changing breast cancer research programs.
“On average, every day in Australia, 8 women will succumb to their battle with breast cancer – 8 daughters, wives, sisters – 8 mums. It is 8 too many!” said Professor Hosking.
“It is entirely thanks to donations and fundraising initiatives like this charity auction that enables NBCF to fund research into the prevention and better treatment of breast cancer,” she continued.
Professor Hosking thanked Winnebago for donating the Pink Minnie in 2015 and said that it had served as an incremental part of vital fundraising campaigns for NBCF.
The Pink Minnie ebay auction will go live on 17 November.
