The Biggest English Lesson in the World is set to be a record-breaking success for Australia’s international education sector. This world-first initiative drawing 3000 students from  across the globe to Sydney’s iconic Bondi beach for the biggest English lesson held in world history, is launched at a time when international education is Australia’s largest service export, and undergoing rapid growth.

Biggest English has its finger on the pulse of Australia’s education boom. Nearly half a million international students study here each year, and by 2020, Australia’s education exports are set to grow from $18.1 billion to $30.8 billion.

Brett Blacker, CEO of English Australia, a key event partner of the Biggest English initiative, says: “We are proud partners of this exciting and timely event, raising Australia’s profile as the top study destination in the world for international students.” Brett noted, “this unique event showcases the diversity of international students studying English in NSW and provides a wonderful opportunity to support the students’ experience within the community”.

In recent times, Australia has received high acclaim in the international education arena. Australia has 5 universities in THE World University Rankings and is the third largest provider of international education in the world.

Further, Asia is Australia’s most promising market for international education. The introduction of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) will accelerate the rate of Chinese students—who currently make up 30% of our international students—coming to Australia. Students from India and South Korea are choosing Australia over competitors such as the US, the UK and Canada.

The Biggest English in the World will be launched on the 12th of February, 2016, at Sydney’s Bondi beach. This world-first initiative will promote Australia as the top destination to study English, reaching a global audience in over 190 countries.

Priscila Duarte is the driving force and project manager behind Biggest English. Priscila, an international student herself, is inspired by all that Australia has to offer.

“Biggest English is the perfect platform to promote the wealth of opportunities that Australia has to offer. Australia not only offers world-class education and career prospects, but an amazing lifestyle and iconic attractions. All of these elements set Australia apart as the world’s top study destination. I am proud to be part of promoting all that Australia has to offer the international student movement on a global stage for the ongoing benefit of Australia and the international student community.”
