The global ‘Thank You’ campaign has included Sydney and eight other international cities and involve billboards and print ads.  The Sydney billboard was unveiled at 7.40am on Saturday, 8th February on the corner of William street and Darlinghurst Road, Sydney, to an excited crowd of Filipino-Australians who wished to share their appreciation with the world.

A social media campaign, originally started by the Filipino community, has been picked up by the Philippines Department of Tourism, and they are encouraging everyone to join in the thanks by spreading the word, tagging it with #PHthankyou.

In a show of appreciation, the Philippines has launched a global “Thank You” campaign around the world to express its gratitude for the outpouring of support following the devastating effects of Typhoon Haiyan which hit three months ago. Using print ads and billboards in iconic places – including the one seen here in Darlinghurst and through social media using #PHthankyou, the Philippines thanks all the people across the globe who have expressed sympathies and who have extended support, financial or otherwise. People everywhere are encouraged to use the hashtag #PHthankyou to continue sharing their support and appreciation.
