The pressures of running a travel agency can be immense and it’s important that owners take care of themselves and their team, which is why Travellers Choice is inviting one of Australia’s leading advocates for small business well-being – and one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs – to address its annual Conference in Adelaide next month.

Leanne Faulkner founded Australian skincare business Billie Goat Soap from her kitchen table back in 2005 after exploring natural remedies for her son’s eczema. Since then the venture has grown into a multimillion-dollar international company, along the way picking up the prestigious NSW Business Chamber President’s Prize for Business of the Year and being named Myer’s Supplier of the Year in General Cosmetics.

Since gaining personal insights into the challenges small business owners face, Faulkner has become recognised as a thought-leader in terms of small business mental health and has consulted on the issue with organisations such as Beyond Blue and the Australian Taxation Office.

Travellers Choice Managing Director Christian Hunter says Faulkner is the perfect fit for the Annual Conference, which is this year themed ‘Our People, Our Future’.

“Our focus this year is on driving business growth through professional and personal development, and part of that involves helping members find new ways to build lasting and meaningful relationships with their employees, customers and suppliers,” says Hunter.

“Of course nurturing those connections is only possible if agency owners are effectively managing their own well-being, and no one is more qualified to address this critical issue than Leanne.”

Travellers Choice members attending this year’s Conference will also hear from Robyn Moore, one of Australia’s most revered and in-demand speakers.

Hunter says Moore – who has more than 40 years’ experience working across the education, advertising and the communication industries – is often described as “someone who sells people back to themselves”.

“Robyn has built an unrivalled reputation for delivering thought-provoking presentations that challenge people to clear away entrenched habits and behaviours,” he says.

“Ultimately she helps people discover new ways to approach their professional and personal lives in order to achieve their goals and deliver outstanding customer experiences.”

The 2019 Travellers Choice Conference takes place from 15-17 November at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide. In addition to conference speakers and workshops, the event will incorporate Travellers Choice’s 2019 Annual General Meeting and the group’s National Awards Gala Dinner.
