More than 20,000 music lovers will boot-scoot their way to Port Stephens for the Blue Water Country and Blues Music Festival, held from Friday, June 10 to Monday, June 13, 2016.
Featuring an impressive line-up of modern and traditional country music acts as well as line dancing socials, buskers and bush poets’ events, the event will take place in a number of locations across Nelson Bay in Port Stephens including Salamander Bay Shopping Centre which is sponsoring the event.
For the first time, 2016’s festival will also incorporate the Sacred Tree Markets, a regular event in which artists, designers, growers, makers and healers offer a range of products.
Among the artists performing at the festival on the Telstra Store Salamander Bay Stage at the d’Albora Marinas will be Golden Guitar-winning Troy Kemp. Troy is a solo artist who will perform favourite songs from Elvis, the Beatles, Van Morrison and Jonny Cash through to present-day hits from Jason Mraz, The Foo Fighters and Keith Urban. Kemp is also an accomplished songwriter himself and has a new single ‘How we roll around here’, which will be released in June. He will play a free show during the festival at d’Albora Marinas on Sunday, June 12, from 2.30pm.
