On Sunday, October 16, at12.30pm, the cruise ship ASTOR departed London Tilbury on her Southbound journey to Australia.
This coming summer will be the fourth that the 620-passenger ocean cruise ship will spend Down Under.
ASTOR’s 54-night journey to Fremantle, where she will again be home ported, promises to be spectacular – which is why an incredible 99 per cent of her cabins were sold out before she left.
Leading her, again, is Captain Emmanouil Psarrakis, a 40-year veteran, who has also brought ASTOR to Australia for each of her three previous summer visits.
The majority of the crew is returning for their fourth visit to Australia as well, although holidaymakers will find a few changes made to way things are conducted on board, with Cruise Director Tony Perkins making his first trip Down Under with the ship.
On her way to Australia, passengers will enjoy stops in the Caribbean, a journey down the Panama Canal and visits to Mexico and several of the tropical islands of French Polynesia.
There are some passengers who will disembark in Auckland (New Zealand), Sydney and Adelaide, before she arrives in Western Australia.
Australia’s cruise-loving holiday makers have plenty of opportunity to enjoy the facilities and comforts of the premium cruise ship.
CMV is offering 16 return itineraries from Fremantle this coming season – from just a couple of nights to 11 nights visiting Bali. She is also introducing three amazing return trips from Adelaide, in early 2017.
The two relocation cruises – Fremantle to Adelaide (departs 19 Feb 17); and Adelaide to Fremantle (departs 09 Mar 17) – are expected to be highlights of ASTOR’s 2016/17 summer.
ASTOR will depart Fremantle on March 15, 2017 for her 39-night trip back to the UK.
