Bonhams Unveils Dates For Singapore Preview Of Its Autumn Collection Ahead Of November Auction

Picture3Bonhams, one of the world’s oldest and largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques, has announced the dates of its Singapore Preview ahead of its ‘Hong Kong Autumn Auction Series’ which will take place from November 20 to 24, 2013 at the Island Ballroom of the Island Shangri-La Hotel, Hong Kong. 
The Singapore Preview will take place October 25-26, 2013 from 10am to 7pm at Singapore Marriott Hotel, Level 2 in the Asam Room, Ketumbar Room, Lengkuas Room, and Serai Room

For this year’s Autumn preview, the spectacular selection includes a total of nine sales – Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, Fine Chinese Paintings: Classic, Modern & Contemporary Ink, Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Asian Art, Fine Jewellery and Jadeite, Fine & Rare Wines, Cognac & Single Malt Whisky, Modern Wristwatches, Clocks & Fine Writing Instruments, and the Leica Sale including two single owner collections will go under the hammer during the five-day sale.

Picture2The ‘Masterpieces of Yixing Stoneware from the Mr and Mrs Jimmy Sha Collection’ showcases over 20 pieces of Yixing stoneware teapots and scholar’s objects of the most extraordinary quality that have ever gone on the block in Hong Kong before. These masterpieces of Yixing stoneware were not only commissioned by the Chinese Emperor but were also jointly crafted by famous potters and eminent scholars of the Qing dynasty.

The other single owner collection is the exquisite ‘Speelman Collection of Chinese ‘Imperial Tribute’ Snuff Boxes’. In addition are spectacular selections of Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art -the highlight of which is a very fine and large Imperial blue and white ‘dragon’ dish from the Qianlong period measuring 45cm in diameter.

The Modern Wristwatches, Clocks & Fine Writing Instruments auction also offers 66 Namiki pens from the collection of Mr Eric Tan, a private South East Asian collector. Namiki is famed for the artisanal creativity of its writing instruments that celebrate both writing and art, and this collection represents the pinnacle of Namiki’s quality and craftsmanship.
