Bourbon Orleans Hotel and New Orleans Hotel Collection Announce Sponsorship and Support for Annual New Orleans TechNOLAgy Festival August 28th

The Bourbon Orleans Hotel announced today that the historic hotel is stepping forward to host the prestigious closing banquet of the second annual New Orleans TechNOLAgy Festival, a day of seminars and discussions on advanced technology in the workplace, environment and future.

The Orleans Ballroom is the oldest in the city, dating to 1817, and is an appropriate location to celebrate “300 Years of Technology and Innovation in Louisiana” the theme of the August 28th banquet presented by the Louisiana Economic Development Association as the finale to its annual gI_83716_6832003733_107b36d149_zTechNOLAgy Festival. The banquet will be hosted by none other than the most famous scientist of the New World of the 1700s, Governor Antonio Ulloa, portrayed by historian Robert Freeland. Governor Ulloa was a noted inventor and statesman appointed by the Spanish King to govern all of Louisiana.

Contemporary guests of the Louisiana Economic Development Association for the banquet will include Mr. Gordon W. Bergstue, Production Director-Boeing SLS Michoud Operations and Dr. Challa Kumar, Director of Nanofabrication and Nanomaterials, CAMD, LSU, among others.

The dinner promises four courses, paired with wines, with a menu designed by Chef Joey Wells of the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. During the meal, Governor Ulloa will present three major technological innovations that have come from Louisiana in the first three centuries of the state’s history. The New Orleans Hotel Collection, including the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, has supported the efforts of the Louisiana Economic Development Association for the past several years in their effort to grow the technology sector of New Orleans economy through the creation and promotion of the annual TechNOLAgy Fest and other activities.
