The rapidly expanding Australian hotel brand, City Edge, has added a sixth property to its growing network with City Edge Town Apartments, in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, joining the portfolio.
The City Edge Town Apartments boasts a prime location on Tattersalls Lane – a vibrant east-meets-west gateway from Lonsdale Street through to Chinatown in Little Bourke Street, lined with some of Melbourne’s famous and finest street art.
Comprised of six two-bedroom self-catering apartments, the City Edge Town Apartments are located on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of a converted historic Melbourne building, and set up with the independent traveller in mind. In the absence of a reception, check-in is a seamless online process with access codes sent to guests 48 hours prior to arrival. An access card can then be collected from the kiosk at the property’s front entrance.
With a plethora of surrounding dining options, cafes and bars to choose from, and nearby venues such as Federation Square, the Emporium Melbourne and Bourke Street Mall, guests are within immediate access to a number of entertainment and shopping options to explore.
City Edge Town Apartments is a franchise agreement between City Edge and Mr Christopher Bott and Mr Aly Amin. Mr Bott also operates the 45-apartment City Edge North Melbourne property. The small boutique addition to the City Edge network is a slight diversion to the current portfolio which consists of properties offering 40 to 70 rooms/apartments; however, Mr Bott says this is indicative of a flexible and successful franchising model.

City Edge has been in operation since 2006. The experienced team is headed by husband-and-wife team Peter and Irena Cushen, who have carefully selected locations central to city and suburban business centers. The City Edge Town Apartments is the group’s sixth hotel, which joins the City Edge stable of 3.5 to 4-star self- rated serviced apartments and hotel rooms.

The group currently has 5 apartment hotels local in Melbourne CBD and surrounds and a traditional style hotel in Brisbane CBD.
“Our aim is to have 10 properties under the City Edge brand by the end of this decade in strategic locations across the east coast of Australia, which is an estimated additional 240 rooms by 2020,” said Mrs Cushen.
