Boutique Hotel And Resort Kata Rocks Hosts New Dining Offerings

Picture2Kata Rocks, the luxurious, chic and modern boutique hotel located at the fashionable southern end of the famous Kata Beach has launched new food offerings and activities that range from experiential to the bespoke.In addition to the popular brunch sessions, a new schedule of food-related happenings includes cooking classes, private BBQ experiences and one-off themed dinners, all available for the months of August through to December.

‘Kata Rocks proudly presents a new series of social events designed to fuse the drinking and dining culture from a whole new perspective.  The Kata Rocks Collective Series is an interactive social experience hosted at our Poolside Cocktail Bar on the last Saturday of every month. The first event in June entitled ‘The New Gin Revival’ centered upon the recent upsurge in innovative gin cocktails, modern gin trends and the spirits rich history. Five unique premium gins were showcased along with music, presentation and a creative menu of Mediterranean inspired crustacean tapas.’

For those who are interested to learn more about Thailand’s culinary culture, available from August and open to guests and visitors, Kata Rocks presents a new Thai cooking experience. Starting at 2,800 THB+++ per person, the classes are taught by the talented Thai chef with all utensils, ingredients and recipes included. The participants are encouraged to get hands-on by undertaking tasks like grinding pastes, chopping up the meat and vegetables, deep-frying and stewing the food in order to learn the perfect skills to cook an authentic Thai dish.

After learning the intricacies of the dishes, each new-Chef will try their dishes at a sit-down team meal. All participants will receive a Kata Rocks Thai Cooking School certificate and branded apron. To add to the experience for guests staying at the resort, the two-hour class can take part in the privacy guest’s own villa using the in-villa kitchen and dining facilities. Group and family classes are available. The cooking classes are available 7 days a week, bookings are essential.


With each villa boasting a terrace area and fully-kitted kitchen and dining offering, Kata Rock’s offers in-villa BBQ experiences for guests and residents. Villa guests can enjoy private villa barbeque experiences with private chef and wait staff. The BBQ offering includes seafood of market- fresh grilled fish, prawns, crab, bug tails, calamari and seafood satay as well as meat platters including a wide Selection of meat such as steak, lamb, sausages and homemade sauces as well as world renowned Phuket lobster which is barbequed traditionally with spiced lime and lemongrass butter – all with fresh salads, dips and sauces.  To finish off the sumptuous in-villa barbeque, a selection of desserts including fresh fruit platter of the season, bite-sized chocolates and to-die-for fruit and berry mousse tartlets will leave mouths watering.

From the 15th – 30th of October, a food festival with a vegetarian twist is set to take place with daily vegetarian specials and family-style set menu of six diverse vegetarian dishes. Complimentary detox shots and healthy juices will be available to all guests who enjoy the set meal.

And finally, for guests who want some privacy and toenjoy a special occasion, the Kata Rocks guest experience team can arrange private dining on the rocks below the hotel. Overlooking the sea, and served by a dedicated butler and waiter, dishes and menus can be tailored for any occasion. Private BBQ experiences hosted by the Chef are also available on request.
