Australians love to travel (we live on an island after all!). With our peak travel period fast-approaching, a new global study by Criteo has revealed that Australia ranks 3rd in the world with the most members signed up to a travel loyalty program (1 in 3 Australians in fact!), however there’s a catch…Gen Z and millennials couldn’t care less about travel loyalty!
Gen Z and millennials are spending more on travel each year with nearly 50% already cashing out more dough than last year. With this growing spend (more than any other age group), is this the biggest opportunity for travel brands?
Criteo’s new data reveals:
- Only 29% of Gen Z & millennials are signed up to loyalty program (Baby Boomers/Silent = 50%)
- 40% of Gen Z & millennials opt out of loyalty programs due to ‘too many emails’
- Nearly 40% of Gen Z & millennials forget they sign up to a loyalty program
- 41% of Gen Z & millennials spent more on travel in 2019 than 2018
