British Airways is the headline sponsor for a special screening of “Disney’s Planes” in Leicester Square, London on July 14 and will also host exclusive regional screenings of the film with Disney on July 21 in Manchester and on August 4 in Belfast, Leeds and Edinburgh. The campaign also includes outdoor advertising across London Heathrow and Gatwick airports, and activity on ba.com

Later this year, British Airways customers will also be able to enjoy the full-length movie “Planes” on board long-haul flights. The deal was developed by Disneymedia+, the integrated ad sales, promotions and marketing solutions arm of Disney, UK and Ireland together with British Airways.

Abigail Comber, British Airways head of marketing, said: “We are delighted to be working with Disney UK as the official airline partner for Planes in the UK. There’s a natural fit, not just because we’re an airline, but also because we both have a strong family customer base.”

Barnaby Rothwell, Director, Promotions, Disneymedia+ EMEA commented: “We are thrilled to be working with British Airways; the brand is a great fit for the launch of Disney’s Planes. We are sure the promotion will create some extra fun and excitement for families in the lead up to the summer holidays and to the film’s release.”

A sneak peak of “Planes” will be exclusively shown at British Airways Silent Picturehouse Kids – a pop up cinema in London, taking place in the week the school holidays start (22-26 July). The venue will show a selection of Disney films for children across the five screens, including; Disney•Pixar’s “Up”, Disney•Pixar’s “Cars 2”, Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”, “Oz the Great and Powerful” and “The Muppets”.

Tickets start from £7.50 and are available at ba.com/silentpicturehouse

British Airways has long supported British film and has been the official airline partner of BAFTA since 2010.
