Búho Cocina y Cantina is Making Waves in Waikiki: Successful Preview Event, Liquor License Approved, Grand Opening Postponed

Búho Cocina y Cantina Waikiki’s first rooftop bar and restaurant experienced a successful VIP Reception Thursday, June 19th.

An impressive turn out of media, industry and community members helped to create an enjoyable and festive celebration for owner, Hide Sakurai’s unique new concept. Thanks to Patron and Corona for their generous support and everyone in attendance that made it possible!

The excitement is only just beginning as Búho’s Bar is officially open serving beer, cocktails, wine and spirits. The fifty foot cantina with a view is one of the first to offer ice cold corona on draft, along with a custom cocktail menu featuring south of the border flavors and fresh ingredients. The bar also serves an array of Mexican beer, along with a well-rounded selection of craft and micro brews.  A meticulously selected wine list from around the world offers everything from Spanish Tempranillo to German Riesling. Fresh fruit margaritas are made with locally sourced ingredients like lilikoi, mango and guava. The main attraction this summer is sure to be their build your own margarita bar in which you decide on your tequila, mixers and garnish for a customized experience.

With all the upcoming activity for Independence Day, Búho Cocina y Cantina has decided to postpone the grand opening date. In the initial Press Release dated June 10, 2014, the grand opening was slated for July 5, 2014; The official date will now be August 5, 2014 at 2250 Kalakaua Avenue. Take the exterior Kalakaua Avenue elevator to the 4th floor or the Waikiki Shopping Plaza elevator to the 5th floor. Búho Cocina y Cantina will celebrate the fifth of every month, beginning in August, for their ‘Cinco de Búho Fiesta’.

Búho Cocina y Cantina is currently serving lunch and dinner seven days a week, from 11AM to 1AM on Sundays and weekdays and 11AM to 2AM Fridays and Saturdays. The Kitchen will make its last call one hour prior to closing.
