The lead-up to Christmas is shaping up to be a bumper quarter for the Brisbane Showgrounds, with more than 60 events scheduled from now until mid-December.
Fourteen of those will take place over the next fortnight alone including the Brisbane Fashion Weekend this Saturday and Sunday and the Pre-Christmas Caravan Sale (October 27-30).
Oktoberfest Brisbane, which wrapped up yesterday, saw around 35,000 people pour through the gates over the last two weekends, bringing the predicted October attendance figure to almost 60,000 people.
October is a bumper month for our Royal International Convention Centre chefs, who will serve around 27,000 plates of food – and it won’t stop there.
By the time this quarter comes to a close, around 85,000 people will have attended events at the Showgrounds, including gala dinners, conferences, meetings, festivals and of course Christmas parties.
Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said many types of events are staged at the Showgrounds, as it offers the largest and most versatile range of indoor and outdoor venues in Queensland.
“On average a million people visit the Brisbane Showgrounds each year to attend almost 300 different events.
“We have a state-of-the-art convention centre, versatile event spaces, award-winning cuisine and a Rydges hotel onsite, so it’s no surprise we have a packed calendar as we near Christmas.”
The 22 hectare Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site.
