Business as usual for Fraser Coast tourism

April 16, 2014 Destination Global No Comments Email Email

The recent wet and windy weather experienced in Far North Queensland was having little impact for visitors to the Fraser Coast, where tourism operators are taking a business as usual approach this Easter.

Robbie Cornelius, Manager for Tourism and TEQ Partnerships for Fraser Coast Opportunities, said the effects of ex tropical Cyclone Ita further north should be no deterrent for holidaymakers coming to the region.

“Bookings are open, the mood is positive and the Fraser Coast is perfect for visiting right  now, with excellent packages available for the Easter period rolling into the ANZAC long weekend,’’ Mr Cornelius said.

“The Fraser Coast is open for business with accommodation providers, restaurants and tour operators all operating as normal.”

Mr Cornelius said access to the Fraser Coast was unaffected with the Bruce Highway and airports functioning as normal.

“Tours and barges to Fraser Island are also fully operational,’’ he said.

Mr Cornelius said accommodation for the remainder of the school holidays and ANZAC long weekend was still available. Great deals can be booked now at www.visitfrasercoast.com/easter
