Ok well we can’t all afford to fly business class – but Emirates looks after faithful economy passengers better than most.
Reach silver status with the carrier for instance and while you unfortunately don’t qualify to enter the vast and incredibly impressive main business lounge – all is not lost. We were heading to London on the A380 service departing at 07.45 from gate C23 which is a quite a long walk from the main lounges. “It will be all worthwhile when you get there, though” I was assured by one of the staff at the main lounge entrance – “we have an excellent business lounge you can use directly opposite the gate.
You could be excused for thinking a bit above an economy experience was on the cards – but you would be very wrong. The two storey lounge is huge with excellent dining facilities offering everything from sit down hot meals to delicious snacks. True it was a bit early in the morning but what a treat to sit back in a comfy lounge chair with the local newspaper and a glass of Dom Perignon rose champagne. Go for gold status with Emirates and as well as Dubai you can relax in superior quality lounges world-wide, enjoy business check-in facilities, priority baggage plus an extra 16kg and earn 50% more miles each trip.
