Butterfield & Robinson, the world’s leading luxury slow travel company, has launched a new collection of trips for 2020, including a brand new wellness portfolio for its luxury expedition trips, new active itineraries for families with older kids and new trips in the less-explored Balkans.Wellness, Walking & Wine
While wellness has always been at the heart of Butterfield and Robinson’s signature slow travel trips, the company’s new wellness portfolio intends to elevate this further. Each trip has been thoughtfully paired with exceptional spa properties, meditation and yoga classes (outdoors, whenever possible), healthy eating, challenging physical activities including multi-day treks and daily hikes as well as authentic encounters with the local culture.

The new Wellness, Walking & Wine itineraries include:

Ischia to Capri Walking & Wellness: This six-day voyage across the Phlegraean Islands in the Gulf of Naples includes mountain walks through thousand-year-old vineyards, morning yoga sessions overlooking the sea and boat trips to both the rustic Procida Island and island paradise of Capri.
Douro Valley Walking & Wellness: A six-day voyage exploring the Portuguese wine regions of Vinho Verde and Douro, including a day hike along the Camino de Santiago route, morning yoga sessions, thermal spas and a day swimming and exploring the Douro on a private riverboat.
Dolomites E-Biking, Hiking & Wellness: A six-day excursion through the stunning Dolomites, including heli-hiking, e-mountain biking through quiet forests and charming towns and morning yoga sessions in picturesque locations.
Himalayas Hiking & Wellness: A 12-day spiritual journey offering a glimpse into the Ladakhi people’s traditional way of life, including a visit to a 900-year old monastery and a three-day trek through the Himalayas, staying in domed tents under the stars.
Bhutan Hiking & Wellness: A 12-day journey including a stunning four-day, high-altitude trek through the remote corners of Bhutan, learning about the particulars of Bhutanese culture, Buddhist practices and their local philosophy on national happiness along the way.
Turkey Walking & Wellness: An eight-day sailing journey along the turquoise coast of Turkey onboard luxury gulet the Lycian Queen, including sunrise yoga, morning beach hikes and visits to ancient cities Pinara and Lydae.

Families with Adult Kids
Butterfield & Robinson has launched 10 new trips for parents to reconnect with their older children by offering a collection of itineraries designed for families with kids in their older teens and twenties.

Scheduled during holidays, the new trips are the perfect opportunity to celebrate family milestones, whether it’s a graduation, a first job or a big birthday. With activities ranging from hiking the lush meadows of the Dolomites, to bike riding through the hills of Tuscany, there is something fit for every member of the family.

New Families with Adult Kids trips include:

  • Costa Brava Biking: A six-day biking voyage through the medieval villages and stunning landscapes of the Pyrenees, finishing with a private boat trip up the Costa Brava coast.
  • Peru Walking: A seven-day journey through the Andes including a trip to the stunning Sacred Valley and a hike through the cloud forests of the Inca Trail with an overnight at Machu Picchu’s only hotel, the luxurious Sanctuary Lodge.
  • Dolomites Hiking: A six-day voyage through the spectacular Dolomites experiencing the region’s sumptuous cuisine, unforgettable hikes and remarkable people.
  • Switzerland E-Biking : A six-day biking journey through Switzerland’s gorgeous alpine region, riding along rivers and through quaint villages, including a steamboat cruise and a gondola ride to the top of a glacier.
  • Tuscany Biking: A six-day biking journey through the hills of the wine mecca of Italy, with highlights such as dining under the stars, drinking prosecco in beautiful courtyards and staying at quintessential wineries.

New Balkan itineraries:
Butterfield & Robinson has also announced new itineraries in the Balkan countries, from the foothills of Mount Olympus in Northern Greece to the vineyard-clad peaks of Slovenia. The trips vary from travelling by boat, bike or by foot and bring guests into contact with resplendent landscapes and engaged locals who take great pride in their homeland.

New Balkans trips include:

  • Bulgaria Biking: An eight-day biking trip exploring the crossroad of cultures – a fusion of Eastern Orthodox tradition, Byzantine art, Ottoman architecture and ever-present Pagan practices.
  • Vienna to Zagreb Biking: A seven-day biking journey amidst snow-capped peaks, sparkling blue lakes, dense forest and vineyard-covered valleys.
  • Northern Greece Walking: A seven-day exploration of the relatively undiscovered northern Greece including exceptional gastronomic opportunities, mountain hikes and visits to ancient sites including the UNESCO World Heritage Vergina and its tombs.
  • Turkey Adventure: A nine-day journey exploring the wonders of Turkey including a hot air balloon excursion over Cappadocia, a visit to the enchanting Kaymakli Underground City, a regional cooking class and a snorkelling trip in the crystal waters of Bodrum.
