A digital tool kit providing a comprehensive and compelling portfolio of Cairns & Great Barrier Reef destination experiences and products will be launched at the Australian Tourism Exchange this month.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) Chief Executive Officer Alex de Waal said market-specific USB sticks incorporating a digital tool kit would proactively support TTNQ’s international trade partners’ online and offline brochure production.
“Cairns & Great Barrier Reef is fortunate to have a very strong portfolio of trailblazing products that continue to be strong motivators for visitation to our destination,” he said.
“The new digital toolkit will reinforce these existing trailblazers by providing a comprehensive and compelling portfolio of Cairns & Great Barrier Reef destination experiences and products.
“This will enable our trade partners to see at a glance what they do not offer and enable them to address any perceived gaps in our destination’s offerings for travellers.
“The toolkit includes Tourism Australia research which identifies the type of products and experiences consumers around the world want.
“TTNQ has used this data to undertake a Destination Experience and Product Gap Analysis (DEPGA) for each of its key source markets.
“The analysis matches the demand by consumers in each market with existing Cairns & Great Barrier Reef experiences and products.
“The tool kit will include the identified consumer insights, destination maps, a matrix of destination experiences and products, and high resolution images relevant to each market.
“This initiative is about helping Buyers meet consumer demand for our destination when they devise itineraries.
“Next we will launch an online application, which will be continually updated with new products, so Buyers can log in and get the latest information about Cairns & Great Barrier Reef.”
