Calabar ICC Is Poised To Make Its Debut At International Meetings Expo, IMEX In May

The vision behind the development of Calabar ICC in Summit Hills, Cross River State was not only a milestone but was bound to score unprecedented firsts not only for Nigeria but West and Central Africa. its successful debut in the African Business Tourism Industry at Meetings Africa, WTM and IBTM in South Africa, Calabar ICC is set to compete for a slice of the international conference market  at IMEX 2015, in Messe Frankfurt, Germany from 19th – 22nd May 2015.

International Meetings Expo, IMEX 2015 is the leading global business expo. The last IMEX event in 2014 brought together over 3,500 exhibitors and about 3,800 hosted buyers from 157 countries.

This year, the composition of exhibitors will include, Destination Marketing Companies (DMCs), Professional Congress Organizers (PCOs), Convention Centres, National and Regional Tourism Marketing Organizations, Professional Association Executives, Hotel Chains, Airline Groups and key industry decision makers on both demand and supply sides.

Calabar ICC will be continuing with global positioning campaign, which started early in the year, with an international press conference at Halle 8 Messe Frankfurt on 20th May.

This will be in between pre-confirmed business meetings at Halle 9 with international meetings/professional congress organizers and incentive travels houses interested in hosting conferences in Africa 2016 – 2019. Gastronomical experiences play a key role in cementing delegate experience to any destination.

Calabar, and indeed Nigeria, is renowned for exciting recipes. Calabar ICC will make history on this front by contributing to IMEX’s recipe book with their first African recipe to start their African Collection with Moi Moi recipe.

This is aimed at showcasing gastronomical experiences that await international delegates when they hold their conferences at Calabar ICC. See The other convention centres from Africa, competing for a slice of the market share, will be from Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Ethiopia, Rwanda and South Africa The Calabar ICC is part of the remarkable 367 hectare Summit Hills development which will include a business hotel, international hospital, 18 hole golf course and a residential development.

A scenic monorail will convey passengers across the Tinapa Lake between the Calabar ICC and the Tinapa Lakeside Hotel.
