Sea Life Melbourne is calling all smallfoots to join our big chill these school holidays by experiencing life as a Yeti to celebrate the release of one of the year’s biggest family movies on DVD and Blu-ray – Smallfoot (release date 19 December).

Smallfoot tells the story of a young Yeti who finds something he didn’t think existed – a human. News of this so-called smallfoot throws the Yeti community into uproar over what else might be lurking beyond their snowy village.

At Sea Life Melbourne, local smallfoots (and accompanying bigfoots) will set off on an icy adventure, where they’ll be whisked into the snowy depths of a magical Yeti world.

Activities include a snow pit (your hands will stay nice and warm as we’ll be using synthetic ice), an ice cube throwing game, a crawl-through igloo,Smallfoot activity books and character masks, and four mystery line drawing stations that reveal a special picture.

Local smallfoots will also have the chance to get up close and personal with Himalayan Yetis, Migo (voiced by Channing Tatum in Smallfoot) and Meechee (voiced by Zendaya) for a photo.

Smallfoot transports viewers into looking at what life would be like as a Yeti. During summer we’re calling for local smallfoots to do the same by chilling off in our very own Smallfoot experience at Sea Life Melbourne,” says Sarah-Jane Tilbury, General Manager, Sea Life Melbourne.

The Smallfoot adventure culminates at Sea Life Melbourne’s very own chilly wonderland, the recently remodelled Antarctic experience, complete with falling snow!

“We know Melbournians are always looking for ways to cool off during summer and there’s no better way than to chill out at one of our coolest zones – the newly revamped Antarctic experience.

“This new zone features a snow machine and an ice cracking moment for famous polar vessel, the Nella Dan, when it bursts through an ice shelf and all this action will take place under the blazing colours of our interpretation of Aurora Australis, or the Southern lights, which has taken over the entire ceiling – it’s really magical.

“And fingers crossed we may be able to spot baby Gentoo chicks on the ice during their nesting season who also live in the Antarctic experience. Sea Life Melbourne really is the coolest place to be this summer,” said Ms Tilbury.

The Smallfoot experience at SEA LIFE Melbourne runs from 21 December 2018 to 30 January 2019 – so local smallfoots will need to be quick so they don’t miss out on the chilly excitement! For further information, visit visit www.melbourneaquarium.com.au/news/smallfoot
