CaminoWays.com, the walking and cycling holiday specialists, have just announced their line-up of exciting Camino de Santiago guided tours for 2016.
Departing on selected dates, CaminoWays.com guided tours 2016 start in March to coincide with Easter celebrations and will be running regularly until the end of October.
Camino guided tours are ideal for solo travellers and walkers looking to share this unique experience with a group. All CaminoWays.com guided tours include experienced local English-speaking guides with knowledge of the history, and culture of the region.
FRENCH WAY from Sarria
This is the most popular guided tour, covering the last 100km of the famous French Way, the Camino Francés. Join fellow pilgrims in the historic town of Sarria, the most popular Camino starting point; venture through the beautiful countryside, sampling delicious food and wine and discovering local customs as you go.
NEW: ENGLISH WAY
CaminoWaysw.com has a new guided tour for 2016 departing from the coastal city of Ferrol in Galicia in June. The English Way or Camino Inglés is a route traditionally taken by pilgrims from Britain and Ireland; and passes picturesque coastal towns such as Betanzos and Pontedeume.
The Finisterre Way tour is unique as it’s the only one beginning in Santiago de Compostela. Pilgrims head West towards the stunning craggy coastline of the Atlantic, discovering fascinating traditions, delicious seafood and incredible landscapes on the way.
PORTUGUESE COASTAL WAY
Starting in the pretty seaside resort of Baiona in Galicia, the Portuguese Coastal Way is a popular choice for walkers looking for a less travelled Camino path. Explore Monte Real castle and enjoy the breath-taking views of the magnificent Illas Cíes and Vigo Bay on your adventure.
CAMINO WALK & COACH
With manageable 8-10km walks each day, combined with sight seeing and plenty of rest time and support bus, the Walk and Coach is the easiest Camino guided tour of all. Take in the historical architecture and majestic monuments of León, visit the famous Templars Castle in Ponferrada and be wowed by the traditional dwellings in O Cebreiro.
CAMINO ACROSS THE PYRENEES
Beginning in St Jean Pied de Port in the French Basque Country, this tour crosses the Pyrenees and finishes in the legendary city of Pamplona, famous for its annual bull run. This section of the French Way, the famous Camino Francés, is ideal for trekkers who want a challenge – the amazing views are definitely worth the effort!
Guided tours on the Camino to Rome, or Via Francigena, are also available atfrancigenaways.com. These cover two wonderful sections of the medieval pilgrimage trail: walking Tuscany from San Miniato to Siena and the last section of the Via Francigena into Rome.
