Canberra Truffle Hunt Weekend and Truffle Dinners

Two of Canberra’s most sophisticated new hotels will celebrate the Capital’s annual Truffle Festival over the winter months with truffle dinners and a weekend package that includes a truffle hunt on a working farm.


The festival celebrates the annual harvest season of the region’s Perigord truffle, or Black Winter Truffle, with a series of degustation dinners, cooking classes and demonstrations, wine tastings and farmers markets, bringing together the finest produce of the Australian Capital Territory.

At Hotel Kurrajong Canberra in Barton, the team at Chifley’s Bar & Grill has created a local produce-packed five-course truffle dinner with matching wines for 13 August, at $135 per person.

“It is really exciting to be able to showcase the unique taste and texture of Canberra’s truffles in this limited edition menu and celebrate its beautiful flavour,” said Head Chef Saju Rajappan. “We are all about supporting local farmers and if you haven’t tried a Canberra truffle, now is the time.”

At Vibe Hotel Canberra, Helix Bar & Dining Head Chef Toby Thorley will celebrate the season by serving a truffle menu in June, July and August, which will change regularly during the festival.

Foodies can go one step further by booking a weekend stay package for two at the hotel, which includes a truffle hunt on a country farm, a wine tasting and share platter at Mount Majura Vineyard and breakfast at the hotel, from only $399*.
