Kambri’s modern and versatile conference and events venues are now available for hire to both the campus and broader Canberra communities.

In the heart of the Australian National University’s campus, Kambri boasts plenty of green spaces, plus architecturally designed buildings offering the latest state-of-the-art technology and facilities, and an eclectic retail mix of restaurants, cafes and shops.

Kambri’s Culture and Events buildings incorporate:

  • a large multipurpose space (500 retractable seats) with staging, lighting and full production capabilities. The space will cater to concerts, banquets, presentations, lectures, exhibitions and fairs.
  • a small multipurpose space (220 retractable seats) with staging, lighting and full production capabilities. The space will cater to speeches, small concerts, banquets and lectures.
  • a cinema (300 seats). The space will cater to concerts, banquets and lectures.
  • a drama theatre (150 seats).
  • a lobby bar, and
  • aMBUSH Gallery’s newest exhibition space, complete with a large outdoor balcony overlooking the precinct and access to parking and the Cultural Centre.

The buildings also contain kitchen facilities to support hosting of catered functions, with an impressive list of preferred caterers to suit all event requirements and budgets.

Offering a new spin to catering in Canberra are Kambri’s catering duo of Sammy and Bella, sisters who first rose to fame as the winners of ‘My Kitchen Rules’ in 2011.

They’ve since gone on to appear as guests and resident chefs on dozens of TV shows, as well as opening restaurants, plus writing, photographing and blogging about food.

Bella explains their enthusiasm for their newest venture.

“It’s an incredible honour to be working with one of Canberra’s best state-of-the-art venues, and we look forward to sharing our menu that incorporates handmade, sustainable Australian native produce with delicious flavours.”

Another company whose services will be available for hire is Black and White Waiters. The company’s director, Alejandro Jara, will ensure his staff set the benchmark for superior service that others will seek to emulate.

“At Black and White Waiters, we focus on providing memorable experiences for all our guests; going above and beyond what they expect with friendly, professional and seamless service that perfectly represents our clients, is responsive to their needs and ultimately helps them put on a flawless event.”

In addition to the Culture and Events buildings, the impressive six-floor Marie Raey Teaching Centre building offers a multitude of rooms and cutting-edge technology for programming opportunities outside of University teaching hours.

This includes the top level ‘Superfloor’ with high ceilings, uninterrupted views across Canberra, an outdoor balcony, and a flexible collaborative environment holding up to 300 people.

For those wanting a dynamic non-traditional space, there is an Amphitheatre with tiered seating adjacent to Sullivans Creek, as well as a range of other hireable outdoor options including University Avenue, The Lane, and The Lawn that can be utilised.

Kambri’s cultural areas and programs will be innovative, inclusive, and inspiring, with an ongoing calendar of events including concerts, comedy shows, sporting action, and art exhibitions, as well as the diverse range of cafes, restaurants and bars.

Whether it’s a major international conference, small-scale meeting, gala dinner, popular concert, open-air festival, seminar series, pop-up market or an awards night, the many inviting indoor and outdoor spaces of Kambri provide options that are modern, attractive, and adaptable.
