Canterbury campaign offers a real winter

Leading travel website Wotif and Christchurch Canterbury Tourism have launched a two week come enjoy a real winter campaign to encourage travellers to discover Christchurch and the Canterbury region’s attractions in winter.

Wotif’s New Zealand Product Manager, Renee Piggott, said Canterbury is the ultimate New Zealand winter road trip destination for international travellers.

“Canterbury has more ski-fields than any other region in the Southern Hemisphere. You can fly into Christchurch, pick up a car and be on the slopes in only a few hours,” Ms Piggott said.

“There are also plenty of non-skiing activities on offer such as revitalizing in the hot thermal pools, enjoying wine tours, or rugging up and gazing at the stars in the world’s biggest International Dark Sky Reserve.

“In the city of Christchurch itself, visitors can ‘shop different’ at the unique Re-start container mall, follow in Will and Kate’s shoes and visit the ‘Cardboard’ Cathedral, and find great fashion and food at Victorian-style arcade The Tannery; just a few of the new attractions in the revitalized city.”

Holidaymakers can experience a real winter rugged up in the Canterbury region with accommodation starting from AU$99 per night, for two people. Flights start from AU$179 per person ex Melbourne.

The come enjoy a real winter campaign runs from 19 May – 1 June, for more information visit http://www.wotif.com/promo/christchurch-canterbury/.
