The Annual PRCA Rodeo fills the Old Spanish Trail Arena with belt buckles, boots and cheering people. Be a part of the fun during the June 2-4 2016 rodeo event. Tickets are available online or at the door. Check out http://www.moabcanyonlandsrodeo.com.

Apply physical strength to one of these action packed competitions held in Moab in June: Thelma & Louise Half Marathon (June 4), Rockwell Relay’s Moab to St. George road cycle race (June 17-18), or the Desert RATS (Run Across the Sand) Stage Race (June 19-25).

Grab a galfriend for this women’s only half marathon; sign up early to specify the name on the race bib to be Thelma or Louise. A team relay includes a boat shuttle on the Colorado River. Get the same great aid stations in all of the other Moab Half Marthon events energized by local groups cheering you forward. Of course, some of the most stunning scenery surrounds the cyclists of the Rockwell Relay, weaving among copious sandstone geology and over the upper reaches of Lake Powell between Moab and the west side of the state of Utah. Or push yourself during the multi-day footrace adventure – Desert RATS.  After a day of running, sit down to meals at a camp along the 148 mile route from Colorado to Moab.

The Annual Grand Slam West meets again in Moab June 9-12th. Grand Cherokee owners come together to drive responsibly on public trails. Besides highlighting conduct the event also raises money to keep trails open in Utah while experiencing the great camaraderie among Cherokee owners.

The Moab Golf Club has a June 6-7 Wing Dinger mixed eclectic bestball tournament followed by June 13-14 Horsehead 2 man or 2 lady championship tournament. Find out more on www.moabcountryclub.com.

Last but not least, the Dawg Days of Summer BBQ and Silent Auction Benefit requires advance tickets for this June 18 event in the Old City Park from 5-8 PM. This annual fund raiser benefits the Humane Society of Moab Valley. Catering is by the Blu Pig. The Williams Brothers perform rock, country, and blues music. Don’t miss out.http://www.moabpets.org

Moab’s Art Walk is held on the second Saturday of the month, that is, June 11 from 6-8 PM. Find the map on MoabArtWalk.com to appreciate many different displays and refreshments. Of course, art work will be for sale too. Then the art walk takes a summer break to resume in September.

Make an event out of your June visit to Moab. Try out the Disc Golf Course brought to you by Moab City Recreation. If you don’t have discs, sets or discs are for rent from Pagan Mountaineering. Perhaps you have a GPS along, take part in the Utah Geo Tour. Find three of five caches that provide unique codes to direct you to a pick up location of a beautifully designed patch representative of that special county in Utah. There are 29 counties in all in Utah. Moab is Grand County. And travel information is found on www.DiscoverMoab.com.
