Centre for Aviation (CAPA), the world’s most trusted source of market intelligence for the aviation and travel industry, is pleased to announce the return of the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation & Corporate Travel Summit in 2020, jointly supported by The Government of South Australia and Adelaide Airport Ltd.http://www.tourismlegal.com.au/

The annual two-day Summit will be held in Adelaide on 5/6-Aug-2020 where more than 500 leading aviation and travel industry executives from Australia and key foreign markets across the globe will gather to discuss the latest regional aviation developments and the current state of the market’s evolution.

The Summit will deliver the region’s pre-eminent aviation strategy event, providing a critical platform for aviation executives to share their insights on airline policy and plans to better serve the Australia Pacific by air; explore the competitive market outlook; bring together key analysts to understand the competitive market; and deliver debates on the issues and challenges facing the region.

South Australian Tourism Commission, Chief Executive, Rodney Harrex, acknowledged that hosting the Summit provides an opportunity to showcase South Australia’s world-class events and tourism offering and will bring significant value to the southern state.

“Hosting the CAPA Summit offers us the chance to share the wonders of Adelaide with leaders in the aviation and travel industry and open up discussion on the South Australia aviation market. Increasing air connectivity to South Australia remains high on our agenda, as we continue to seek ways to share our beautiful state with more people and accommodate for our future growth,” said Mr Harrex.

Adelaide Airport, Managing Director, Mark Young supported this saying, “The CAPA Summits are always an excellent opportunity to connect with airlines and other industry participants, and we’re delighted that Adelaide has been chosen as host in 2020. We welcome the opportunity to showcase our wonderful city and airport, and the chance to demonstrate our recent and future opportunities for growth. Attendees will also be able to see first-hand the advanced stages of our construction project to expand our international and domestic terminal.”

Ranked as Australia’s fastest growing capital city airport for international passenger numbers in 2016-2017, Adelaide Airport is now undergoing a AUD165 million terminal expansion designed to enhance the inbound and outbound experience for international passengers. Since Feb-2019, the airport has seen consecutive monthly growth, with the highest passenger numbers since 2005 reported in May-2019, followed by double digital international passenger growth in June-2019.

Air connectivity has also been enhanced with new flights, increased frequencies and greater capacity afforded through aircraft upgrades on existing routes, announced by several airlines in the last six months alone, including Regional Express Airlines, Qatar Airways, Qantas, Malindo Air and Jetstar.

CAPA Chairman Emeritus, Peter Harbison said, “The CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation & Corporate Travel Summit is our premier event that delves into the unique intricacies of the aviation and corporate travel industry in this part of the world. We thank The Government of South Australia and Adelaide Airport for their support of the 2020 Summit. We look forward to welcoming industry players from across the globe to Adelaide, to continue to share ideas and the important dialogue on the future of our industry.”

The 2020 Summit will see the return of CAPA’s successful two-stream programme covering both aviation and corporate travel topics. Presented by the Corporate Travel Community (CTC), the corporate travel stream will compile targeted professional development initiatives and discussions that provide travel managers and buyers with the tools they need to keep abreast of the latest changes and developments to travel programmes in the region.

Prior to the 2020 Summit, CTC will also bring a dedicated corporate travel event, the CTC-CAPA Corporate Travel Gathering – Australia, to Sydney on 25/26-Nov-2019. Held at the Hyatt Regency, the event will similarly combine keynotes, rapid fire presentations, interviews, panels, debates and masterclasses to guide corporate travel buyers to become successful leaders of their travel programme.

CAPA’s series of regional events are highly regarded as an industry benchmark, offering thought leadership, valuable networking opportunities and in-depth insight on the issues and trends that shape the local and global airline industry.
