Carlson Rezidor Fuels Australasia Portfolio Growth With Focus On Three Brands

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced at the HotelsWorld 2015 conference its plans to increase its commitment to Australasia (Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands).

Kicking off its growth plans in Australia is the re-design of the flagship five star Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Sydney.  The first phase of this initiative will begin with the meeting and conference rooms due to be unveiled in late August.  This will be followed by the re-design of all 364 accommodation rooms.

To better position ourselves to seize the opportunities, we are growing our team to include a dedicated Australasia hotel development function based in Sydney and also introducing our full portfolio of brands including Radisson Red®, Park Inn® by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM brands to the region, he added.”

Radisson Red is an innovative hotel concept that is inspired by technology, design, art, music and fashion, designed to appeal to millennial-minded travelers and provides guests a uniquely engaging and personalized stay experience. At the same time, it offers owners lower construction and operating costs than traditional full-service hotels due to a multi-functional approach to design and efficient space-planning. The brand has strong potential in Australian destinations like Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Gold Coast Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

Carlson Rezidor also believes in the strong potential of its Park Inn by Radisson brand in Australasia. It has built a strong reputation as a colorful and dynamic mid-market hotel brand, offering guests great value for money. Across Asia Pacific, there are six Park Inn by Radisson hotels, with another 12 in development.

In addition, Carlson Rezidor is gearing up to roll out its Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM brand with a focus on the regional centres of Australia and New Zealand, where this upper midscale hotel brand, which offers a comfortable hospitality experience delivered with a touch of home, will have great resonance with both international tourists and domestic holidaymakers.
