Carnival Cruise Line has announced some star talent to headline its Melbourne Cup Cruise for 2019, including legendary Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Jim “Pumper” Cassidy, and esteemed media personality Deborah Hutton. With two Melbourne Cup wins under his saddle and over 100 Group One wins to his name, inductee in both the Australian and New Zealand Racing Halls of Fame, Jim Cassidy is considered one of the most legendary jockeys of our time. Cruisers will be able to get to know Jim through an exclusive Q&A session and photo opportunity onboard Carnival Spirit.

A legend in her own right, media personality, TV host and former editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly, Deborah Hutton will host “Fashions on the Spirit”, a special fashion show featuring established Australian designers. Cruisers best bring their favourite threads and hats, as Deborah will also step into the judging panel for the guest fashion parade onboard.

Fashionistas will love the addition of Naomi Bell this year, a personal stylist and co-founder of luxe gifting brand My Style Box. As well as joining Deborah in the guest fashion parade judging panel, Naomi will curate the fabulous looks in the “Fashions on the Spirit” event, plus host an exclusive style workshop for cruisers to perfect their outfits before Cup Day.

She’ll be joined by one of Australia’s most established milliners, Serena Lindeman, making her return to Carnival Spirit. Serena will run a hands-on fascinator workshop, will adorn the models in the fashion show with some of her award-winning millinery and will take the third judging spot for the guest fashion show.

Alongside Serena, Wendy Green and Damian Kelly will return from a terrific 2018 Melbourne Cup cruise to join the stellar line-up in 2019.

A favourite with Carnival cruisers, Wendy Green will once again generously make her treasured Melbourne Cup available for selfies, while sharing her inspiring story about winning the Melbourne Cup in 1999 with Rogan Josh.

To add, Damian Kelly, former sports broadcaster and racing enthusiast, will be the official Master of Ceremonies on Carnival Spirit, hosting a number of themed events for racegoers.

Whether you’re a keen racing fan, or simply love the festivities of Cup Day, Carnival Spirit’s annual Melbourne Cup Cruise is the best way to travel in style to the “race that stops the nation”. The cruise fare also includes general admission tickets to the Lexus Melbourne Cup and Kennedy Oaks Day at Flemington Racecourse, plus transfers, so cruisers won’t miss any of the action.

Punters can also enjoy activities including a Betting Masterclass and exclusive Melbourne Cup Degustation Dinner onboard, the famous Bloody Mary Recovery Brunch, a Melbourne Cup edition of the Mad Hatters High Tea, and much more.

Carnival Spirit will depart Sydney on 3rd November 2019 for a six-night cruise to Melbourne.

Stay-tuned for the second round of talent set to be announced in early 2019.
