Dark Path + More Art + Music Announced For Dark Mofo 2019

More music and art has been announced for Mona’s winter festival Dark Mofo 2019, including the program for the free outdoor, after-dark art walk Dark Path, three weeks of performances at DarkLab’s new live music venue Altar, plus performance work and foodie features at the community-focused Winter Feast.

Dark Path is a new public art walk announced for Dark Mofo 2019 program, discoverable via a trail winding from Hobart’s waterfront Regatta Grounds up through the urban bushland of the Queen’s Domain and through to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Along the path patrons will discover many strange, wondrous and contemplative artworks including new commissions from Tony Oursler (USA), a site-specific work by Tasmanian artist Julie Gough, plus S.J. NormanChris HenschkeNaomi Blacklock, and more.

Art also just announced is a work by UK artist Jimmy Cauty (The KLF, Justified Ancients of Mu Mu) Aftermath Dislocation Principle, contained in a forty-foot shipping container with peep-holes into a large-scale diorama model of a dystopian post-riot scene, to be stationed outside Hobart Town Hall. … Continue Reading
