Cathay Pacific took to the air to showcase Australia’s capital to agents
Canberrans were woken to the view of hot air balloons floating across the city during the Canberra Balloon Spectacular. Held over nine days, more than thirty hot air balloons from across the globe took to the skies creating a picturesque backdrop for Canberra’s national attractions.
Cathay Pacific returned again this year with 747 First Officer, Jeffrey Vella piloting the balloon. Vella has been attending this event on and off since 2001 where he piloted the RAAF balloon.
Jeffrey said ‘we flew across the lake with an amazing view of Australia’s national monuments, we then flew right above Australia’s Parliament House and right over our Old Parliament House, over the embassy district, then back over the lake to touch the water right beside our National Museum. There are not many places in the world where you would get to do that. It is really special’.
Cathay Pacific’s Craig White hosted agents from Flight Centre, Maria Slater Travel and Jamison Travel over 3 days.
