CATO Announces New Committee

CATO (Council of Australian Tour Operators) held its Annual General Meeting in Sydney last night attended by 60 members.

Long serving Chairman Rod Eather (Beachcomber Tours) retired after 5 years in the role and 12 years as a Committee member. Also not seeking re-election were Vice Chair Trevor Fernandes (Wildlife Safari) and Sarah Anderson (GTI Tourism).

 The new Committee will now be headed by Chairman Dennis Bunnik (Bunnik Tours) and Vice Chair Greg Carter (Chimu Adventures), James Dunn (Rail Plus), Martin Edwards (Bench International), Ross Ioppolo (Ormina Tours), Halina Kubica (Greece & Med Travel) Anne Marie Mitchell (GET) with Julie King (Dubai Tourism) having special responsibilities for the Tourist Office members. 

Membership levels remain at 100 and the financial position and reserves of the association remaining stable. The new Committee will be meeting in August to assess results of a recent survey completed by members and to plan for added benefits for members. 

Guest Speakers at the meeting included Jayson Westbury CEO of AFTA and Elisa Kelsall Industry Manager of Google.
