Celebrate the 4th of July with Democracy

As home to the 82nd Airborne, the US Army Special Forces and the US Army Forces Command, it’s safe to say “when the President calls 911, Fort Bragg answers.” 


The residents of Fayetteville and the communities of Cumberland County call these heroes “neighbor.”  It’s no surprise that the community was recognized as one of the most patriotic in the US by NewsMax Magazine.

While this patriotism is evident 365 days a year, July 4th is a special time in the Fort Bragg region. Celebrations large and small mark July 4th, most notably a massive celebration at Fort Bragg.


The Town of Stedman observes July 4th a week early, on June 26. Head out to Camp Sandy Creek for musical performances, inflatables and food vendors. The evening starts at 6 p.m. and closes with a fireworks show.  (910)483-2611.

July 1st

On July 1st, the NC Symphony honors the birthday of the United States with a concert of patriotic favorites, high-spirited classics and closes with a fireworks show. The festivities held at Festival Park in downtown Fayetteville starts at 7 p.m.

July 3rd

Following an 7:00 pm game at  J.P. Riddle Stadium, the Fayetteville Swampdogslaunch a Tribute to Honor America fireworks show. The fireworks show is free, but game admission requires a ticket.

July 4rd

At 7 a.m., the Firecracker 4 Miler offers an active way to celebrate the 4th of July. This course winds through the beautiful and historic parks and museums of downtown Fayetteville.

Hope Mills marks the 4th of July with an Independence Day Parade at 10 a.m and a Party in the Park from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.  The Party includes entertainment, games, food, tournaments, vendors  and a fireworks show at dark.

Open to the general public,  Fort Bragg’s July 4th Celebration starts at 3 p.m. on the Main Post Parade field.. Activities include some of today’s hottest musical acts, parachute free-fall demonstrations, the popular flag ceremony, fireworks, and food and beverages.
