unnamedLaucala Island is spread across 3,500 acres of rainforest-laced landscapes and white sandy beaches. This exclusive tropical hideaway features 25 expansive Fijian-style villas set amid coconut plantations, beside deserted beaches and atop the island’s volcanic mountains. Each villa, constructed with local timber, thatch and stone, is uniquely adorned with traditional Fijian designs and complete with private pools, indoor and outdoor showers and outdoor baths.

In addition to the luxurious accommodations, this ultra-all-inclusive island offers guests a selection of five restaurants and bars ranging from beachside barbeques to fine dining. Each restaurant’s seasonal menu is sourced from the island’s 240-acre farm where a team cultivates a wide range of organic crops and raises animals such as poultry, cows (including Wagyu), pigs and many more.

Closer to the resort, under the watchful supervision of trained staff., the Kids Club offers an educational and fun experience for toddlers to early teens, providing unique experiences, such as a map to discover Laucala Island’s treasures or a compass and disposable camera for exploring. Kids can paint, learn how to carve wood, play in the beach’s large sandpit or even attend a bubble-making dive course. Additional activities include kids’ mountain bikes, tennis, pony rides, various water activities and golfing.

The island’s Water Sports Centre is home to a fleet of 14 boats, including the Riviera Open Flybridge for game fishing as well as Dragon sailboats and traditional Fijian outriggers, ideal for sunset cruises or archipelago discovery. From here, windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking and jet-skis are also available.

Arguably the best way to explore Fiji’s marine offerings is by taking the plunge, and Laucala offers snorkelling equipment and PADI certified Dive Centre to get guests up close and personal with hawksbill turtles and angelfish. Or for the ultimate underwater experience, the resort’s Super Falcon submarine!

Guided walking tours also lead guests to far-flung corners of the island, with arranged visits to a Cultural Village detailing Fijian arts, crafts and traditions, as well as Laucala’s organic farms and gardens.

The peak of relaxation on the island is the hilltop spa where traditional Fijian therapies, organic amenities and serene settings go hand in hand. Herbs, spices, flowers and fruits are picked straight from the spa garden to create Laucala’s signature scents which are incorporated into the spa’s amenities, including lotions and massage oils used in the spa rituals
