Recognised for its design that celebrates the roots of Hong Kong’s culture and a meeting of the East and West, Tycoon Tann celebrates local tradition with its design concept instilled in the limited edition mooncake boxes. The mooncake gift box draws inspiration from the ancient apothecary cabinetis ideal for those looking for a taste of elegance. As mooncakes are a symbol of reunion and togetherness, taste the tradition this Mid-Autumn Festival with family and friends, and show them appreciation over a box of traditional egg custard mooncakes prepared specially by Tycoon Tann.

The stylish black casing adorned with the traditional knots in the middle is contrasted with the base of the golden yellow box creates a classic yet stylish feel. The mooncake gift box draws inspiration from the ancientapothecary cabinet of Tycoon Tann’s featured wall once again highlighting Chinese deeply-rooted culture, ispaying tribute to the reunion of family in the annual Mid-Autumn Festival. The colour combination, rarely seen during Chinese festivities stands out to the today’s Hong Konger as it is chic, elegant and modern.

The stunning yellow colour is chosen as the salutation of our traditional values of Chinese culture, and wishes prosperity and longevity in this special festival. In Chinese culture, yellow is the symbol of prestige, and was the exclusive colour used by the Emperor for thousands of years. In modern culture, it now represents posterity and is still a crucial part of Chinese culture today.

“Tycoon Tann mooncakes have been very popular in these two years, the design of the gift box has been well recognised for its classic yet modern look. This year, we use the ancient apothecary cabinet of Tycoon Tann’s featured wall as our design concept, the feeling of traditional and sense of design are the unique features that revived on Tycoon Tann’s mooncake gift box,” says Cherry Lo, Executive Director of bma Catering Management.

The box opens up into a stylish display of a tiny 6-grid cabinet. The use of 6 sections also draws from Chinese tradition, as 6 is a lucky number and symbolises happiness and contentment. There are also 3 different elegant icons printed on the limited mooncake gift box. The traditional knot once again wishing happiness and longevity, while a traditional Chinese handheld fan symbolises prosperity and a Mid-Autumn Festival lantern is a symbol of reunion. Revived on Tycoon Tann’s mooncake gift box, it seamlessly ties together two worlds: tradition and design.
