Celebrating Loi Krathong with Small Luxury Hotels of the World™

One of Thailand’s most beautiful festivals, Loi Krathong, is taking place on 17 November 2013 and Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ (SLH) has a fantastic collection of Thai hotels for those seeking to experience the magic of this festival.

Loi Krathong is celebrated in Thailand at the end of the monsoon season, which originally began as a way for Thai people to give thanks to the Goddess of Water.  These days, people float krathongs – delicately crafted floats made of lotus or banana leaves, a candle and incense sticks, on the river to wash away misfortunes and make wishes for the future. It is an incredible photo opportunity too, with colourful events taking place all over the country.
