Celebrity Cruises is proud to announce its first partnership with Taste of Sydney. The sixth annual Taste of Sydney will see Celebrity Cruises plate up a delicious range of foodie fun on Thursday 13th March, 2014 to Sunday 16th March, 2014 at the alfresco Centennial Parklands.

At Sydney’s premium gourmet festival, an array of interactive food features is sure to satisfy all appetites. Whether guests are in the mood to mix up the perfect cocktail or learn to pair culinary creations with top tipples, there is something for everyone at Taste of Sydney.

Taste of Sydney will feature a new Food & Beverage Matching Masterclass Inspired by Celebrity Cruises. The exclusive masterclasses will be hosted by Celebrity Cruises’ Associate Vice President of Food & Beverage Operations, Chef John Suley, who is flying in from Florida especially for the event. Visitors will enjoy an indulgent tasting plate paired with matching beverages, while learning tricks behind successful food-and-drink pairing.

Plus, guests can relax in style at the exclusive Celebrity Cruises Lawn Club, which replicates the unique Lawn Club – the only real lawn at sea – onboard Celebrity’s fleet of five Solstice Class cruise ships. Set on a lush lawn space, guests can enjoy canapés and Chef Suley’s two exclusive martinis inspired by Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Century.

Chef Suley is widely regarded as one of the USA’s top up-and-coming chefs. He joined Celebrity Cruises in 2011 and is known for his edgy, innovative and unique cooking style. He provides passion, vision and inspiration to the more than 3,000 food and beverage professionals that he leads. Prior to joining Celebrity, Suley’s professional background includes culinary experience in the upscale, international dining scene. He served as executive chef at South Florida’s incarnation of Alfred Portale’s “Gotham Bar & Grill” (New York), “Gotham Steak” at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami.

John Suley said: “Celebrity Cruises’ partnership with Taste of Sydney highlights our continuing dedication to achieving the highest levels of consistency, quality and innovation in our onboard culinary experience. The Celebrity Cruises culinary team proves that dining at sea can be as enjoyable, tasteful and memorable as the best dining experiences on land. I’m delighted to be travelling to Sydney for this event.”

Celebrity Cruises is known for its globally influenced food and beverage offerings. Premium onboard speciality dining options include: the high-end French experience that is Murano, the Italian steakhouse Tuscan Grille, Asian inspired Silk Harvest, the innovative Qsine and Blu, which is an exclusive dining experience for AquaClass guests – just to name a few. Onboard bars include Cellar Masters with its focus on high-end wine tastings, the Molecular Bar, which serves cocktails bursting with fresh flavours and unexpected combinations, and the impressive Martini Bar featuring an ice-topped bar.**

Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Century are Australia’s two highest-rated superliners.* Both ships will be based in Sydney for the 2014-2015 local cruise season, sailing a range of sought after itineraries travelling Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. This will be the first time ever that Celebrity Cruises has two ships based in the region.
