For the first time, a Celebrity Cruises President and CEO will travel to Mumbai to host India travel dignitaries and media guests promoting India as a growing cruise market. The Oberoi Trident Towers, Mumbai, will be the backdrop for this unique opportunity for an intimate exchange of mutually beneficial ideas and strategies.

The Mumbai event comes just after Lutoff-Perlo’s tour of India’s world heritage sights including the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Humayun Tomb, the India Gate, Presidents House and Gandhi Smriti enroute to Mumbai. “Touring India first-hand is a deeply moving experience for me, and I look forward to sharing my stories with guests wanting to do the same,” says Lisa Lutoff-Perlo.

In addition, Mrs. Lutoff-Perlo will host 150 crew members and their families in their home city of Mumbai on Thursday, March 15, 2018 as a way to recognize the history and heritage they each bring to the Celebrity ship they call “home” when working on the high seas.

“The cruise industry continues to grow in India with its rich culture, history and beautiful people,” says Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, Celebrity Cruises. “We are proud to share the India mystique with guests who enjoy immersing themselves in the heart of the country. From the opulent and cosmopolitan sites to the deep spiritual roots of the culture, Mumbai is a growing epicentre for cruise vacationers. We are grateful to the people of India for welcoming us with open arms, and we look forward to continuing to grow in this incredible area of the world.”

Exclusively for Indian guests, Celebrity has segmented one of the Abu Dhabi sailing, allowing guests to debark and embark in Mumbai. This new segment will offer new opportunities for guests to experience modern luxury cruising on Celebrity Cruises.

“It is our honour that Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, has taken time to visit and explore India,” says Mr. Sanjay Bhatia, Chairman Mumbai Port Trust. “Her stay sends a strong message to the tourism industry that Celebrity Cruises is investing time and resources to support cultural and economic growth in India for years to come.”

Celebrity Cruises currently sends 17,500 guests to India on its sailings from November through April, overnighting in Mumbai, visiting Goa and Cochin.

Lutoff-Perlo will board the Celebrity Constellation on the President’s Cruise in the Port of Mumbai and continue on to Goa, metropolitan Muscat, 17th century Khasab, Dubai and ending in Abu Dhabi. Guests of the President’s Cruise will enjoy unique excursions to explore and experience the history and culture of what is commonly described as the “Spice Route.”

The 2018 Celebrity President’s Cruise begins in Abu Dhabi with ports of call that include Mumbai and Goa, India on board Celebrity Constellation from March 11- March 23, 2018.
