The cruise line, known for its unique brand of modern luxury, has made the decision to offer year-round sailings in order to cater to the increasing demand for its Solstice Class product in North America and the Caribbean region.
Celebrity Equinox will offer 24 new sailings in total, alternating between the Western and Eastern Caribbean and calling in locations like Barbados, Antigua, St. Maarten and Puerto Rico. Additionally, she will sail several itineraries that explore other destinations in the region and make the most of special occasions, such as an 11-night Signature Event sailing that includes a double-overnight stay in New Orleans to coincide with the city’s famous Jazz Festival, and cruises that explore the Southern and Deep Southern Caribbean.
A new culinary program called ‘Taste of the Caribbean’ will feature onboard, offering complimentary events such as a culinary demonstration with Celebrity’s featured chefs, mixology demos, the biggest wine tasting at sea, rum and reggae party on The Lawn Club and brunch and bubbles. Exclusive events are also available for a fee, including a fresh pasta and mozzarella making class together with lunch at Tuscan Grille and an exclusive five-course tasting dinner with Celebrity chefs.
For a more indulgent culinary experience at sea, guests can choose to purchase the ‘Taste of the Caribbean: Premium Package’. This luxurious package gives guests a taste of all of the culinary, wine and cocktail indulgences available on Celebrity Equinox, from the Chef Market Discovery shore excursion, a “Blendtique” wine blending class, to a Riedel Wine comparison workshop.
The move means that Celebrity Equinox will no longer sail in Europe during the northern hemisphere summer in 2017, however the majority of Celebrity Cruises’ fleet will remain in the region, including three Solstice Class ships; Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Silhouette andCelebrity Reflection, as well as Celebrity Constellation.
Celebrity Cruises sincerely apologises to guests who are inconvenienced by the change to Celebrity Equinox’s itineraries in Europe 2017. The cruise line is in the process of reaching out to each of the affected Australian guests – or their travel agent if they booked via one – to provide them with information about compensation and re-booking on any of Celebrity’s 60 European sailings in 2017.
Affected guests should contact their travel agent or travel partner to seek further information in regards to amending their cruise reservation; unfortunately Celebrity Cruises is unable to discuss a booking with any guest directly if they booked via a travel agent. Guests who booked via Celebrity Cruises directly will receive a letter that provides more information, and can also call Celebrity Cruises on 1800 754 500.
