Celebrity love-inn: Hanging with Daniel Wu in Paris and having a dinner date with Song Hye-kyo is the ultimate Celeb Vacay
With the much-awaited holidays coming up, Hotels.com™ reveals the celebrities we’d most love to jet off and spend a vacation with. Daniel Wu and Song-Hye Kyo are officially the city’s most desired travel buddies to satisfy the wanderlust with in Paris.
The city of love is the place we’d most want to take our favourite stars, and having a romantic dinner with them is the most popular option. A little over 40% admitted they’d rather take their celebrity date to a nice dinner, than to check into a five-star hotel (40%) or take a bunch of selfies (31%). Hongkongers are quite the aggressive type as well, as a quarter of them (26%) would like to privatise their celeb buddy and make them their romantic partner for the day!
Hong Kong actor and model Daniel Wu (20%) was named the top male celebrity travel companion in the Hotels.com survey but we’d also love to travel with Louis Koo (18%), David Beckham (15%), Tony Leung (14%) and Julian Cheung (Chilam) (14%).
… so does ‘Beauty’
Korean Descendants of the Sun and Full House actress Song Hye-kyo (25%) topped the female travel chum chart. Travelers would also love to check-in to a vacay hotspot with Taiwanese sweetheart Annie Liu (21%), Jun Ji-hyun (20%), Sola Aoi (19%) and Jacqueline Wong (18%).
Looks really do matter
Bobby Yip, better known as “Eight Taels of Gold (八両金)” in Cantonese, has always been the butt of the joke when it comes to appearances. Perhaps because of that, few Hongkongers would want to spend their precious vacay hours with him, even given the chance. Bobby Yip (48%) was revealed as the least popular travel companion.
Beautiful people deserve to be paired with beautiful cities
When travelling with their dream celeb buddy, Hongkongers seem to be more willing to venture out and away from Asia. We’d most like to whisk our favourite celebrity away for a week of fun in Paris (35%). A third want to experience the bustling-yet-also-kind-of-familiar-city that is Tokyo (30%) with their beloved celebrity, while a quarter dream of relaxing with the exotic scenery of Greece (25%) and a little more than a fifth want to visit the sandy metropolis Dubai (22%).
