Celestyal Cruises Welcomes Samos To Its 2017 Iconic Aegean Itineraries

January 16, 2017 Cruise No Comments Email Email

It is with great excitement and pride that Celestyal Cruises announce the addition of Samos to their 2017 Iconic Aegean itineraries. Their vision is to continue to add authentic destinations to existing and new itineraries, so as to introduce passengers from the world over to these magical locales and to continue to offer the cruise industry a unique product and experiences they will remember for a lifetime.

After evaluating more than 85,000 valid questionnaires during the 2016 cruise season, Celestyal Cruises found their passengers considered Samos, a lush beauty in the north eastern Aegean, as one of the top destinations on the 3 and 4 day Idyllic Aegean itineraries, which sail during July, August and the first week of September. Many passengers informed Celestyal that their experience on Samos, where they discovered its natural beauty and historic sites, was one of the most memorable of their holiday and suggested it be included on as many of our Aegean itineraries as possible.

Thus Celestyal have decided to immediately add Samos to all of their Iconic Aegean itineraries, so passengers can now choose to visit either Samos or Kusadasi, Turkey, whilst being on the same cruise. Passengers on all 2017 Iconic cruises can therefore decide the day before they sail if they wish to sail one of two itineraries:

Original: Piraeus-Mykonos-Kusadasi-Patmos-Rhodes-Heraklion/Crete-Santorini –

OR—

Samos Option: Piraeus-Mykonos-Samos-Patmos-Rhodes-Heraklion/Crete-Santorini Disembarkation in Pythagoreion, Samos (technical call via tender boats) each Saturday and Tuesday.

Disembarkation will commence at 04:30 AM each Saturday (3-day) and Tuesday (4- day).

Passengers who will choose to visit Samos instead of Kusadasi and have a Kusadasi Shorex already included in their cruise can select from a variety of outstanding shore excursions on Samos, including a hearty breakfast in a traditional Samian restaurant in the island’s capital, Samos Town (“Vathi”). Samos offers many delights, including the opportunity to stroll through the main square of Vathi to visit the Church of St. Spyridona and the lovely town hall. The island is also home to a wonderful wine museum where visitors are introduced to artistry and tradition of local wine production. We will also offer passengers the chance to tour the picturesque seaside village of Kokkari, home to a cheerful maze of alleyways, a small, homey port and some of the Aegean’s most envied beaches. There will also be time to ramble about Pythagoreion before returning to the ship at 14:30 to enjoy a buffet lunch and set sail for Patmos.

In 2017 Celestyal Cruises are thrilled to bring their passengers to the birthplace of Pythagoras. As you know, the Pythagorean Theorem applies to right triangles: but Celestyal’s 2017 Iconic Aegean itineraries won’t require any math or measurement, just the willingness to step ashore on one of the most breathtaking islands in the Aegean!
