unnamed (26)It is the pleasure of Centara Hotels & Resorts to introduce “C Dee”, the friendly Centara Elephant and newest member to the team.  C Dee helps to reinforce the family-friendly qualities of Centara properties. Children will have the opportunity to meet, play and interact with C Dee, making them feel included, comfortable and make their stay unforgettable.

C Dee’s full name is “Chang Dee”.  Chang is the Thai word for elephant.  He is a happy, friendly, well-behaved elephant.  C Dee was born in Pattaya, Thailand, nine years ago. C Dee wants to share his love for Thailand with all of the guests.

Centara understands the unique needs of parents travelling with children and have created services that address those needs.  Whether parents are looking for interesting ways to entertain their children or looking for some time to spend with their spouse for dinner or at the spa, there is a program or activity that their children can be engaged in.  Centara wants to ensure that every member of the family has a fun-filled vacation.

C Dee adds value to the programs that are currently running at four Centara properties – Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya, Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villas Phuket, Centara Karon Resort Phuket, and Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak. Centara offers a ‘Kids’ Club’ that has two different supervised zones: ‘Camp Safari’ for ages 4 to 9, and the multi-media ‘E-Zone’, designed to entertain tech-savvy teenagers.  There is a wide range of activities that children can participate in, such as treasure hunts, beach and pool games, even yoga, morning gymnastics, aqua aerobics and Zumba – adults can join in the fun too.

With over 30 years within the hotel industry, Centara is able to offer flexible room options to accommodate families of all shapes and sizes, including bunks beds in many of the family suites; and children under the age of 12 stay and eat breakfast for free at Centara properties.  Children are additionally catered for by the inclusion of ‘water park’ and water slide facilities at many Centara beachside resorts.

The best part, of all of these services that help create lasting, positive memories for your family, is that children under the age of 12 stay and eat breakfast for free at Centara properties.

With properties throughout Thailand and in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bali and Vietnam, Centara is able to offer a variety of different options for accommodation that will suit the individual needs of every family.

Families have many flexible room options available to them such as a single room with two double beds or interconnecting rooms that allow for you and your family to stay together.  For large families, many Centara properties offer family suites and residences, which keep the family close while providing the individual space that may be required, with bunk beds for the children as well as separate spaces for sleep and play.  There are many different options based on the property.

In Pattaya and Phuket, there are resorts that have extensive water parks with slides, lazy rivers, waterfalls and children’s pools, plus direct access to the beach.  If traveling to the island of Samui there are opportunities to go island hopping and elephant trekking, while boat rides are popular in Krabi where you can explore the limestone islands in the bay, many of them riddled with caves that can be easily accessed by kayak.

A shipwreck, private lagoon and reef at Centara Grand in the Maldives is an ideal underwater playground where everyone can be immersed in the crystal clear waters.  In Vietnam, historic cities of Hue and Hoi An are an easy day excursion that allows for a unique cultural exploration.

Centara resorts at Bali, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka all have plenty for the kids to do with superb beaches and countryside to explore.
