“Sydney Airport is seeking a charity partner to bring fresh and exciting ideas to our Sydney Airport Community Christmas Giving Appeal, which unites passengers and the airport community to raise funds for a worthy cause over the festive season,” Sydney Airport managing director and chief executive officer Kerrie Mather said.
“Last year, our Sydney Airport Community Christmas Giving Appeal involved more than 500 volunteers and raised around $265,000 for Variety – the Children’s Charity to help Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
“We hope this year’s charity appeal will be bigger and better than ever. We look forward to finding a charity partner with exciting and unique ideas with whom we can work to ensure a successful appeal.
“The Sydney Airport Community Christmas Giving Appeal is a key component of Sydney Airport’s community engagement, sponsorship and partnerships program, which last year invested close to $1.5 million in funding and in kind support for charities, events, schools, sporting clubs and community groups.”
The chosen charity partner will engage with Sydney Airport in a two-year corporate partnership to jointly deliver the Sydney Airport Community Christmas Giving Appeal, including planning, resourcing, management and public relations.
This year’s appeal is expected to run at Sydney Airport’s T1 and T2 terminals for six weeks from mid-November until Christmas Day. The appeal provides a range of opportunities for a charity partner to promote their cause through a launch event, activations, merchandise sales, donation collections, signage and entertainment at the airport.
