Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok is getting popular

egtmedia59Ever since the luxurious 5-star Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok was chosen to be one of the official hotels during Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) in June 2013, it seems obvious that this remarkable riverside property along the mighty Chao Phraya River becomes more and more popular, and this day by day.

Located a little bit south of the Sky Train Station Saphan Taksin – by shuttle boat a short five minutes ride – and in close distance to the new shopping and recreation complex “Asiatique the Riverfront”, the hotel is part of an altogether three tall tower building and also part of Chatrium Hotels and Residences, belonging to the prominent “Chatri” Family of Bangkok Bank.Hotel-Riverside-s01-Swimming-Pool-2-copy

During a recent business trip on the way to Myanmar, I luckily had the opportunity to visit Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok and was heartily welcomed by Khun Sommai Yocapajorn, the hotel’s Public Relations Manager. Arriving by shuttle boat from the river around noon, it was only a short walk to the Hotel Lobby with the reception and concierge. In total, there are 396 studio style rooms and suites on 36 floors. All rooms have Wi-Fi and offer a private balcony with fantastic river- as well as city-views.

Well-located near the riverside is the spacious River Barge Restaurant at the Lobby Floor, which offers a rich breakfast buffet, open from 6 am and all day dining, while “Pier 28” features al fresco dining on the river’s edge. A special part on the Lobby Floor is reserved for the high-class Nemita Spa, which opens from 10 am.

For times of relaxation or sport, there is the modern Fitness Center with sauna rooms on the 4th Floor or the open-air swimming pool and Pool Bar on the 6th Floor of the hotel. The highest 36th Executive Floor features a business center with private meeting rooms, a lounge and the elegant Silver Waves Restaurant, famous for its Cantonese Cuisine and bar, open from 11.30 am. Also, a ballroom with 7 additional function rooms is available.

During my long week-end stay in the hotel I always met a smiling staff being helpful in all matters concerned. It was easy to visit all the attractions near the river by using the complimentary shuttle boat from the Chatrium Pier – close to an impressive spirit house – to Saphan Taksin Pier, which runs at regular intervals from 6 am in the morning up to midnight. Only in the event of heavy rain, the shuttle boat service will be temporarily suspended.

s01-034From Saphan Taksin Pier, you can easily find the way up to the sky train station or take another regular river express boat up and down the river to visit places such as River City, Wat Arun on the Thonburi side, Wat Pho, or the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo.

When I finally checked out from the hotel, there was no problem to take the shuttle boat again to Saphan Taksin Pier, and even easily reached Bangkok’sSuvarnabhumi International Airport via the convenient “Airport Link” without the help of any taxi.

All in all, I was so impressed about the services at the Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok that I decided to also visit its sister hotel in Myanmar, named Chatrium Royal Lake Yangon, when traveling there next.
