The CCTV Master Chef cooking competition has come to a successful end. After many rounds, the “Master Chef” crown was finally won by Pierrick Maire, chef de cuisine of S.T.A.Y. Restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing who came from Marseilles.
Master Chef is a high-end cooking competition TV programme created by CCTV. It has ranked first in audience rating for three years in a row since its first broadcast. The programme offers a platform for top chefs to pit their cooking skills against each other. The competition greatly promotes the collision and exchange of food culture among different countries.
The young, but skilled Chef Pierrick has been in China for only six months. However, he has gained rich experience at many Michelin-starred restaurants, become part of Chef Yannick Alléno’s group and appointed by the great himself to take charge of his first S.T.A.Y. Restaurant in Asia.
In the competition, Chef Pierrick led his brilliant team to overcome such obstacles as limited ingredients and cooking equipment, creating various delicacies which captured the nitpicking food judges and passed the whole strict process under the supervision of the cooking skill director. Finally, they beat all the competitors and coveted the title of ‘King of the Kitchen’.
