Fresh for this season, Chef Stefano Rossi has added new creations to complement Pirata’s well-loved menu using rustic, quality ingredients sourced from Italy. Serving traditional family-style Italian comfort food, Pirata is one of Hong Kong’s favourite hang-outs for honest Italian food and authentic flavours.
“I like to carefully handpick all our ingredients, sourcing the best seasonal produce from around the world to ensure our dishes have the quality of flavour that shines through.” says Pirata Executive Chef Stefano. “Using all the ingredients that I love, I’ve created my own take on Italian classic favourites.”
These new Italian plates are driven by ingredients with character and are made to dig into with families and friends. Starters include the more-ish Grilled Tomino Cheese (HKD85), wrapped in Tomino speck ham with lightly grilled zucchini. Brought back by popular demand is the simple yet hearty Roasted Italian Sausage (HKD130), which uses traditional Luganega Sausage sautéed in white wine and served on top of lightly grilled onion with fragrant rosemary.

Great for sharing, the air-dried Bresaloa (HKD130), from North Italy’s Valtellina, is tossed with cherry tomatoes, Grana Padano cheese and lemon oil.
A sure-fire Pirata favourite added to the a la carte mains offering is Chef Stefano’s Liquid Parmesan Ravioloni (HKD180), served with rich Beef Ragu and sage. Parcels of handmade egg ravioloni are slowly cooked at exact temperatures to melt the golden parmesan encased inside – advised to be eaten in one bite for a mouthful of molten heaven.
Pirata’s Roasted Italian Sausage
Complementing Pirata’s succulent meat offering is the Roasted Duck Breast (HKD290), a home-style rustic dish served with sautéed onions, duck fat roast potatoes and drizzled with one of Italy’s oldest ingredients – Italian balsamic vinegar, reduced for a sweet glaze.
Vegetarians can indulge in cheese on cheese in the Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni (HKD160). Creamy spinach and ricotta cheese is layered with besciamella cheese, then tomato sauce before a generous topping of Grana Padano cheese. The handmade cannelloni pasta is baked to perfection for extra cheesy, bubbly goodness.
