Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services

The 3rd annual Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS), one of Southwest China’s leading automotive trading platforms, has much to offer the automotive industry players this year. http://www.banyantree.com/en/ap-thailand-phuket-doublepool-villasCAPAS jumpstarts the sourcing and knowledge exchange from 19 – 21 May 2016 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center with 35,000 sqm of exhibition space to explore.

Over the last three years, the show has experienced rapid growth. CAPAS organisers are seeing significant increases in exhibitors and expect visitor numbers to increase this year as well. The fair will host 728 worldwide exhibitors, an increase of 9 percent over last year, and is expected to draw more than 16,000 global buyers, an increase of 20 percent over 2015, throughout three halls over the three-day event.

The Sichuan area in Southwest China has experienced accelerated growth recently and the automotive market continues to rise. Many manufacturers have established factories in the region and production percentages progressively accelerate. CAPAS is on the forefront of this growth, allowing both exhibitors and buyers to tap into the swift current of the market.

The number of exhibitors increases each year and several well-known brands will be present at CAPAS 2016. Additionally, the number of exhibiting countries and regions has risen, with 10 in total this year. Indonesia and Italy are exhibiting for the first time this year and Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the United States are returning.

Many companies have experienced the benefit of CAPAS first-hand. Several of those companies are returning this year to take advantage of the burgeoning automotive market in Southwest China, including: Aborn, Asia-Pacific, Liqui Moly, Luoshi, Musicson, Ruili among others. Well-known brands exhibiting at CAPAS for the first time this year include: Bluepoint, Bluestar, BoHai Piston, Cummins China, DCEC, Eneos, FAST, Haida, Heavy Duty Truck, Liao, Mitasu, Olympus, Qianjiang Spring, ruiming, SAIC-IVECO HONGYAN, Shaanxi Automobile Group, Shijiazhuang Jin Kaien, Snapon, Trainsway, Winsafe, Yongtai among many others.

In an effort to connect the western, central and eastern regions of China, as well as parts of Eurasia and regions of Africa, the commercial vehicle industry continues to greatly expand in China. New business opportunities and connections will be found at the new Commercial Vehicle zone at CAPAS.

Also showing the newest innovations within the field of new energy this year will be the newly launched New Energy zone at CAPAS. The zone is co-organised by the Group Office of Sichuan New Energy Automotive Industry Development. The latest models in the “Made in Sichuan” new energy vehicle fleet will be launched at the show. These models include new energy vehicles from acclaimed passenger and commercial vehicle manufacturers such as: Brilliance, Chengdu Ace, Inmax, Li Jue, Shudu and Yema.

Visitor groups and partnerships abound at CAPAS 2016

Approximately 16,000 buyers are expected to descend on CAPAS 2016 from all reaches of the globe. There are several opportunities for sourcing the latest innovations in the automotive industry-related OE and aftermarket services. Overseas visitor groups, including those from Malaysia and Turkey, will be organised. In addition, there will be numerous local visitor groups looking to understand and capitalise on the immense marketability of the automotive industry in Southwest China.

There are approximately 20 local visitor groups and many are from the surrounding areas of Sichuan. These areas include the districts of Chongqing, Gansu, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Tibet and Yunnan. New groups from other regions of China joining the ever-expanding show this year are also scheduled to attend. Pursuing a better understanding of Southwest China’s growing automotive aftermarket and possibilities also include: Anhui, Fujian, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanghai, Tianjin and Zhejiang.

These visitor groups will bring approximately 8,600 professional trade visitors to the show, with new delegates from the Chongqing Auto Service Industry Association, the Commercial Vehicle Production and Marketing Association and the Chongqing Auto M&R Industry Association.

A new programme is beginning at this year’s CAPAS to allow for strategic partnerships between selected industry-leading brands and the organisers. The partnership offers five companies, including Liqui Moly GmbH, Ruili Group Ruian Auto Parts Co Ltd, Shanghai Musicson Tech Co Ltd, SKYFIL Auto Parts Manufacturing Co Ltd and Wenzhou Ruiming Industrial Co Ltd, to promote and explore the market with the most benefit possible.

Fringe Programme increases events and revs up with industry-specific events

Events abound during the CAPAS 2016 Fringe Programme with 17 events. Topics are across the spectrum of the three primary automotive sectors of Parts & Components, Accessories & Tuning and Repair & Maintenance. The list of activities include not only “Made in Sichuan” Self-driving Travelling Activities, CAPAS Academy 2016: Auto Parts Intelligent Manufacturing, CAPAS Car Tuning Carnival 2016, China Auto Venture Capital Summit & China (Sichuan) Automobile Industry Investment and Cooperation Conference, China Automotive Industry Venture Competition 2016, but many other events are also scheduled to maximise the CAPAS 2016 experience.

The fringe programme is a unique opportunity for industry players to share information about the automotive industry, the market and the future of the automotive parts and aftermarket services trade in Southwest China. It’s also an exclusive chance to network with peers and see the latest in vehicle parts, accessories, tuning, maintenance technologies and products available today through product demonstrations, presentations and factory visits.
