The Spa at Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu recently received a five-star rating from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia.
“We are elated that CHI, The Spa has received recognition as one of the only two five-star spas in Sabah. This is a fabulous beginning and we look forward to further enhancing the delivery of our spa products and services next year,” said Mr. Andrew den Oudsten, the general manager of Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu.
The nomination and adjudication process took several months and included mystery visits and spa audits. In deciding the winner, the judges considered the ‘hardware’ components of ambience, design and equipment and the ‘software’ components of the treatment menus, service quality and therapists’ skills and qualifications.
