Chimu Adventures’ Director To Plunge Into Antarctic Ocean In The Name Of Breast Cancer Care

Greg Carter, co-founder and director of Chimu Adventures will travel to Antarctica in November of this year on Chimu’s exclusive ‘PinKtarctica’ expedition, where he plans to take part in a dare of dashing into the Antarctic waters, in nothing more than his swimmers.

In an environment where snow is ever present and water temperatures rarely rise above 0 degrees Celsius, a ‘polar plunge’, as it is known, is not for the faint hearted.  Greg hopes to use this dare as a platform for sponsorship to complement Chimu Adventures’ commitment to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation.

“It’s somewhat a rite of passage for travellers to plunge into the frigid waters of Antarctica, most people who partake do it for a dare. Though I’m not overly fond of cold water in general, let alone near freezing water, it makes sense to me to use this dare to raise further funds for the Mcgrath Foundation, after all the discomfort from doing this won’t go near what cancer sufferers go through, as such I’m collecting donations in the form of sponsorship for my antics. “said Greg Carter, co-director and founder of Chimu Adventures.

On-board the PinKtarctica voyage with Greg will be the McGrath Foundation’s Director and Ambassador, Tracy Bevan and renowned Australian Artist Ken Done who have been working with Chimu to raise awareness of the journey as proceeds from each berth sale will directly benefit the McGrath Foundation.

Chimu Adventures has been running exclusive and themed charters to the Antarctic since 2013, including filming journeys and fundraisers.  In the 16/17 season Chimu Adventures have two more exclusive charters lined up for release with some very interesting special guests signed up to join the departures, details on these exclusive charters to be released very soon.
